Private Lessons and Group Lessons

Private Lessons

Our Private Lessons include lessons for violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, guitar, voice, and more!

• Cost for lessons:
30 minutes: $34 per lesson
45 minutes: $47 per lesson
60 minutes: $60 per lesson

Students will meet weekly with their instructor at Dow Street Community Music School for the duration of their chosen semester (Fall, Spring, or Summer).

• Length of Term:
Fall 2026: 15 weeks – starting in mid-August
Spring 2027: 15 weeks – starting in mid-January
Summer 2027: 8 weeks – starting in June

Group Lessons

Dow Street Community Music School may offer group lessons when there is demand by students to make a class with at least 4 students. Possible options for group lessons include:

Children – violin, ukulele

Teens – ukulele, guitar, voice

Adults – ukulele, guitar

Payments for Semester Lessons

• Methods of payment include cash, check, money order, online through the website or at the school. (3% is added to online payments for bank processing fees.)

• A downpayment of at least 2 lessons is required by the first lesson day. Inquire about scheduling a payment plan for lesson fees.

• Payments for scholarships students and sibling discounts should be in person, so the correct fees can be charged.

Scholarships

Need Based Scholarships are available.  If you think you may be eligible, please contact us or submit an interest inquiry form.

** Lessons are open to children, teens, and adults.
** Discount provided to families with two or more children taking lessons
**Families of scholarship students and families with discounts for more than one child taking lessons should pay in person, so the correct fees can be charged.
