We are located at 1272 Dow Street, just off of Highland Avenue in Murfreesboro, TN.

Instruction is offered in violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, oboe, bassoon, flute, clarinet, saxophone, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, drums, and voice. Ask us about  instruction on other instruments.

There are several options for registering for lessons/programs. Send an inquiry to info@dowstreetmusic.org, complete an interest inquiry form here, phone 615-225-8294, or register in person at the school.

Lessons are offered to children and teens, ages 5 – 18. (Instruction may be offered to younger students on a case-by-case basis.) Lessons are also offered for adults.

We offer a variety of group lessons for children and adults when there is an interest by enough students to make a group. Ask us about these options for children: ukulele group lessons or violin group lessons. Options for group lessons for adults include ukulele or guitar. Options for group lessons for teens are ukulele, guitar, or voice.

During fall and spring terms, students may take individual lessons each week (for a 15-week semester) for either 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or one hour.

Semester recitals will be offered to students in fall and spring terms.

Students are charged for all lessons for which they register. Students should notify their teacher of upcoming absences. Instructors may offer make-up lessons, but they are not obligated to do so. If a teacher is absent for a lesson, a make-up lesson will be scheduled. Class lessons cannot be made up.

Lesson fees are set per semester. Payment may be made for the full semester or in 4 equal payments. (Payment deadlines will be provided at registration.)  The first payment is due before lessons begin.

All classrooms have glass doors allowing parents to observe. We encourage parents to stay with young children during their lessons. A reception area is available with comfortable seating for parents.

Need-based scholarships are offered to children and teens. Inquire if you think you may qualify for a scholarship by completing our interest inquiry form.

The school does have a few violins for young children that can be loaned to students.

Yes, we offer summer lessons during an 8-week term in June and July. We also offer summer camps. Watch for the camp schedule on our website.

Yes, we have a ramp from the outside for students.
