About Us
1272 Dow Street
The Dow Street Community Music School at 1272 Dow Street has seven teaching rooms for individual lessons, one teaching room for group lessons, and a performance hall that seats about 90 people. The Dow Street Community Music School is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Providing music instruction to children and adults in a community music school setting was a dream of Dr. Andrea Dawson (founder & violin/viola professor at MTSU) for many years and now that dream is a reality at Dow Street Community Music School. Co. Founder, Dr. Jill Austin (MTSU management professor, retired) manages the operational activities for the school.

Our Founder
Dow Street Community Music School founder and Violinist Andrea Dawson is Professor of Violin and Viola at Middle Tennessee State University. (Lessons by audition only)
