Blog Post # 1: Introduction to Blog

Hello! I’m Amber Den Exter, and I’m so excited to announce that I’m starting a blog for Dow Street Community Music School (DSCMS)! The blog will be called Amber’s Notes on Notes in which I will share weekly posts on all manner of topics relating to music and DSCMS. I am really looking forward to connecting with the community through these posts and to using this platform to share stories, thoughts, and insights with you all. Dow Street Community Music School was founded on a vision to enrich our community by providing music for all, and my hope is that this blog will continue bringing that vision to life. Over the past several years, I have been proud to watch the evolution of DSCMS into the thriving school that it is today. I have come to see the importance of community in music and life as well as the way that learning music can shape and form who we are. In my personal journey as a cellist and musician, I have been lucky enough to play and perform a wealth of amazing music, to experience different cultures from around the world, and to connect with some of the most inspiring performers, teachers, and human beings along the way. My hope is that these posts will also serve as a way for me to pass along some of that knowledge in a useful and thought-provoking way.

Let me know in the comments if there are topics that you would like to see discussed on this platform! The postings will be available on the DSCMS website and the DSCMS Facebook page. I hope you will join me on this adventure! 🎶
